In Rome, the Eternal City, a destination for travelers from all over the world and home of good food, more precisely in the San Giovanni district – famous for the oldest and most important papal Basilica in the West – since 2017 there has been a welcoming wine bar called Verso which combines the sale and tasting of excellent Italian (and international) artisanal wines with an interesting menu of typical dishes.
If you are visiting the Capital town and you are in the area, don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the special atmosphere of this place: the walls of the internal rooms are covered with over a thousand bottles of wine and the furnishings are informal and elegant. The expert sommelier Silvia Cruciani is the director of this place and will welcome you with professionalism and kindness, telling you about the particularities of each wine and helping you with your choice.
The two chefs, Simone Giuliani and Daniele Bonanni have created imaginative dishes which are a declaration of love for the Italian culinary tradition but which also show the chefs’ work experience in restaurants abroad. You can delight yourself with tomato and basil meatballs, tasty chicken liver crostini with frozen raspberry, cold cuts from Salumificio Colprem, a selection of cheeses with homemade jams, traditional Roman first courses, or meat and fish second courses.
The chef Simone Giuliani tells us in this podcast about his experience of managing a restaurant business abroad and the difference with the work at Verso wine bar.
